    Ecost suddenly shut down its website in early July 2014 without advance notice. I have no idea what happened with people who already paid them and were awaiting product. But I can imagine. SCUM LIKE ECOST NEVER REALLY GO AWAY. They just open another crooked outfit under a different name. In this case they didn't even change the name much. Their presence is now eCost on eBay.     Purchased a TomTom gps from ecost in 2008. Still awaiting my $28 rebate. Ironically, I only bought it because of the rebate. I have called and emailed dozens of times but on my last call, she could find no record of my issue.     Not only will I not ever order from them again, I can honestly say I would not take a freebie from them. They would somehow fk that up. I ordered a factory-refurbished PC from them.     I ordered an LED TV for a Christmas present last night and got an email today from ecost informing me they could not verify my address!     I ordered a refurbished HP computer and was told to expect the product in 3-7 business days. Three days after the company acknowlwdged my order, I got an e-mail asking me to call a number because "there is a problem" with my charge card.     I have purchased with ecost before and went to them when I was looking for a pico projector. Their price was low, and prior experience told me that the shipping was fast and reasonable. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Platinum premium membership is very confusing. I immediately realized I had made amistake and called to cancel since I hadn't made ant purchase and was told no refund. Called baked and denied again but the agent said she would put in a request and I would be notified by email within 48 hours of their decision. Surprise no email(which if you look on line you will find is common). Telephoned again and was pretty much told too bad for you. I'm left feeling foolish and frustrated.BEWARE.
